Flight in and Meeting on Nanny Cay on Tortola, Saturday 5/14
then Boat Inspection before we started, Sunday 5/15 -- link
Trip motoring south to Norman Island, Mooring in Bights Bay
Kayak and dinghy to snorkel and explore beach in Privateers Bay, Sunday 5/15 -- link
First sailing trip east through Drake Channel to Virgin Gorda to moor at slip in Spanish Town,
then kayak and dingy to visit The Baths -- huge rounded rocks in ocean, Monday 5/16 -- link
Sail to Full Moon Festival on Beef Island in Trellis Bay; first visit to the festival site by day, then
actual festival with food, fireballs, dancing, music, and more in rain, Tuesday 5/17 -- link
Sail to Cane Garden Bay, Tortola, with stops for (a) short snorkel at Marina Cay, and (b) anchoring failure
at Monkey Point. One of our few beautiful days with clear sky and great sunset, Wednesday 5/18 -- link
Sail to successful anchoring at Sandy Cay, late failed attempt to moor and anchor at Jost Van Dyke
in Great Harbor, return to Cane Garden Bay for great dinner with great live band, Thursday 5/19 -- link
Successful sail to moor at Jost Van Dyke in Great Harbor after morning at Cane Garden Bay. Day visit to
Foxy's restaurant and bar to reserve space for evening dinner by all at Foxy's, Friday 5/20 -- link
Final day on boat started terribly by motoring through high wind and heavy rain around west point to
moor in Soper's Hole to shop and wait for weather to clear. We started for Nanny Cay by motor, but the
weather cleared to sail and visit The Indians for a beautiful sunlit snorkel! Saturday 5/21 -- link
Final days and return -- cleanup ship, farewell to ladies, Andy and Bill visit Round Town (dodging
heavy rainstorms), chat with friends from 51 foot boat, spend night in hotel packing, Sunday, arise early on
Monday to tour Nanny Cay with many photos, fly back to Chicago via Puerto Rico. 5/22 & 5/23 -- link
