Andy in Evanston Hospital Testing for Epilepsy April 21 to 25, 2014

During my 5 days in Evanston Hospital with my head all taped up with 20 electronic EEG leads beneath a total white tight "cap" of bandages with a 20 wire "poney tail", unfortunatelly I did not experience any total blackout. I did experience one brief 10 to 20 second "auora" on the third day. They were gradually reducing my medications one at a time over 3 days so I only had one day to have a seizure before they built the medications back up for my dismissal on Friday.

Due to my extremely low heart rate plus an abnormality in it's shape, they did run a sonnigram taking still and moving pictures of my heart with interesting red and blue colors showing the direction of my blood flow. I had an interesting experience with the Chinese technician who ran it while Captain Bill was there speaking Manderian Chinese with her and describing my 6 week tour of China back in 1987. The doctor who ordered it finally totally assured me Thursday evening that my heart was in excellent shape.

This means that I have to get re-admitted in about a month (as soon as the insurance approves it). This time they will IMMEDIATELY cut ALL my medications to zero the first day. I hope they can work out a way for me to exercise instead of simply laying in bed or sitting and reading because 4 out of the last 5 seizures I've had were during or shortly after exercising. When Captain Bill was in my room he took these photos of me in my white bandage "cap":

One of the other few positive parts of this tedious hospital stay was this view I had of the Baha'i Temple to the north out of my window
