Andy Biking in May to Bill Luksha's and to Allan Lindrup's

On Tuesday, May 14, Andy biked up Sheridan Road, out Tower Road in Winnetka to the forest preserve bike trail, then up in through Glencoe into the Chicago Botanic Gardens
then back down the forest preserve bike trail on the west side of the lagoons next to Eden's Expressway, accross Tower Road, Accross Willow Road, under Edens Expressway
(where he nearly hit a number of high school joggers running blindly into the tunnel from the west and jumped aside when he yelled "BIKE, look out!!", then accross a road,
over the overpass over Lake Ave., over another road then parellel to Harms Road, around the large park west of where Old Orchard Road meets Harms and north of Golf Road,
accross Golf, through a lot more woods and finally turned around at Dempster St. where both the Milwaukee Road Metra and the bike trail cross it. Andy then biked back down the
trail until he came to Harms Road just south of Golf. Since he was only a couple of blocks from his good sailing friend Bill Luksha's house in Morton Grove, He decided to bike over
and visit them. This is a photo of their lovely pink crabapple tree a couple of days earlier when it was still in full bloom.
After leaving Bill & Dale's, Andy tailwinded a group of fast cyclists on the trail until he got to Old Orchard Road. He biked on this east to Crawford Avenue, then south on Crawford
to Church Street, east on Church to Central Park, then north on Central Park to a large park in Skokie. There he rested before biking the last couple of blocks to Trinity Lutheran
Church on Golf where the North Shore Choral Society rehearses. After rehearsal, he biked 3 miles east to Evanston. The total was over 40 miles that day!

On Thursday, May 16, Andy biked almost 50 miles in three hours from his condo in Evanston 5.3 miles to the Chicago Lakefront bike trail which is 18 miles long, then about half a
mile beyond the south end of it to see his UUSJ active friend Allan Lindrup's new house just beyond 7600 South Shore Drive. It was such a nice sunny clear day, he
couldn't resist taking a photo of Allan's new residence shown above. On the way back Andy biked out Promintory Point, then west to the Unitarian Church of Evanston
for Choir rehearsal (he made it just by 7:30PM and was NOT the last to arrive), so than brings the total to just under 50 miles.
